Kongsberg Maritime Finland Oy is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join their growing Remote Operations Solutions unit in Turku. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative remote control room solutions used in the maritime industry.

The Senior Hardware Engineer will become part of the Hardware Team and collaborate closely with software and network teams, as well as project stakeholders, to ensure the reliability, scalability, and documentation of technical solutions in both R&D and customer delivery contexts.

Basic information:

• Location: Turku (Lemminkäisenkatu 32)
• Remote work: Hybrid, remote work is possible up to 2 days per week
• Travelling: Occasional travel during the year for customer installations and workshops
• Employment type: Full time, permanent

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Installing and configuring hardware and software in control room environments, focusing on both backend (server room) and frontend (operator interfaces), using Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining audio and video pipelines.
• Creating detailed system documentation and layout drawings.
• Participating in lab-based product development and real-world customer deliveries, prioritizing current delivery projects.

What Kongsberg excpects from you

The position requires at least 5 years of experience in audiovisual or control room environments. Relevant expertise in one or more of the following areas is expected:

• A background in system administration, including experience in managing hardware and installing Linux and Windows environments
• Hardware installation
• Virtualization
• Communication systems
• Video streaming
• CCTV systems
• Remote desktop solutions
• Networking, system administration, and software development are considered an advantage
• DevOps practices or Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) are onsidered an advantage

• The ability to understand needs from different perspectives
• A fast-learning mindset and readiness to adopt new technologies
• Fluent English skills (Finnish, Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage but not required)
