M-Files is looking for a strategic and technically strong Senior Product Manager, AI to lead the development and evolution of AI-powered capabilities within the M-Files platform. This is the most senior AI product management role in the company, combining strong ownership of AI strategy with hands-on execution and cross-functional leadership. The role plays a central part in M-Files’ ambition to accelerate AI-driven innovation across the product portfolio.

Team
The role reports to Director, Cloud Development, and is part of the Platform Foundations team that is located in the global Product Management organization. This position is the most senior AI Product Manager role in the company and is expected to mentor and guide more junior AI-focused Product Managers working on application-level AI features.

Day-to-day collaboration is particularly close with the AI-focused development team based in Eastern Canada, consisting of approximately 7–10 in-house professionals including a team lead, scrum master, architect, developers, and QA. In addition, the role works closely with other AI product managers, sales, product marketing, services, support, and cloud operations.

External interaction includes collaboration with customers from various industries, partners and resellers, and Microsoft as a strategically important technology partner.

Role overview
The Senior Product Manager, AI is responsible for leading the development and evolution of AI-powered capabilities within the M-Files platform, with a particular focus on building and scaling a shared AI platform used across multiple product teams. This is the most senior AI product management role in the company, combining strategic ownership with strong technical understanding of AI and machine learning, and close cross-functional leadership. The role acts as a unifying force across AI initiatives and represents M-Files’ AI capabilities both internally and externally.

M-Files already has an AI strategy and several AI-powered features in production, and the company is now significantly increasing its investments in AI with direct support from the board. A central priority is the continued development of a robust, scalable AI platform that enables faster and more consistent innovation as technology and business needs evolve.

The main objective of the role is to establish an AI platform that is actively adopted by multiple application teams, align AI initiatives and product managers around a shared direction, and continuously adapt the AI strategy in a rapidly changing landscape.

The AI technology environment is fully based on Microsoft Azure technologies. M-Files leverages Microsoft Foundry and other Microsoft-provided AI services, working closely with Microsoft experts to accelerate development and access advanced AI capabilities.

Key responsibilities and main tasks

AI Product Strategy & Platform Leadership

• Define and drive the AI product strategy aligned with M-Files' vision and customer needs.

• Own and evolve the roadmap for AI capabilities such as intelligent metadata extraction, semantic search, document classification, and generative AI integrations.

• Lead the development of a shared AI platform used by multiple application teams.

• Ensure strategic and technical choices support scalability, reliability, and long-term value.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and services.

• Translate customer pain points, data insights, and market trends into actionable product requirements.

• Work closely with engineering to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable AI solutions.

Execution, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor performance, adoption, and business impact of AI features.

• Continuously optimize AI capabilities based on user feedback and data.

• Define success metrics and KPIs for AI platform adoption and usage once in role.

Leadership & Evangelism

• Mentor and guide other AI-focused Product Managers.

• Evangelize AI capabilities internally and externally through customer meetings, webinars, and thought leadership.

• Act as a key spokesperson for M-Files' AI vision and capabilities.

Who we are looking for

Experience & Skills

• 7+ years of product management experience (flexible if otherwise highly relevant experience).

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with AI/ML or data-driven products.

• Proven track record of delivering AI products from concept to market in an enterprise SaaS environment.

• Strong ability to define product strategy, assess opportunities, and deliver customer-centric solutions.

• Experience defining and tracking metrics for AI and generative AI products.

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.

• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.

Preferred qualifications

• Technical background (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science).

• Experience with responsible AI, compliance, and ethical AI practices.

• Familiarity with information management, content services, or enterprise software.

• Demonstrated thought leadership in AI/ML (e.g. publications, speaking engagements).
