Kongsberg Maritime is one of the leading suppliers of heavy-duty winches for escort, harbor, and coastal tugs. Their towing winch systems are the preferred choice among the major tug operators around the world and are appreciated for pulling force, compact design, easy operation and reliability. The company provides hydraulic-driven and electric frequency converter-driven winches for tugs.

We are now looking for a Software / Electric & Automation Engineer to Control & Digital – Towing for Kongsberg Maritime. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining towing winch controls product with collaborative team, with interaction to external customers and suppliers when needed.

Basic information

• Location: Rauma

• Remote work: negotiable, ideally maximum 3-4 days per week after on-boarding

• Travelling: a few times per year, mainly in Finland and occasionally internationally

• Permanent, full-time role

• Start date can be negotiated

Key responsibilities

• Software / electric and automation design based on your competence profile

• Development of towing winch controls in your area of expertise

• Technical support of your area of expertise to rest of the engineering team and other internal stakeholders

• Supporting customer delivery projects and supply chain activities

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the field of electric, SW or automation engineering (applications from graduates will be considered)

• Experience on designing or programming electrical and automation systems is considered as an advantage

• Ability to use relevant engineering software/tools considered as an advantage,such as CoDeSys V3.5, Electric CAD - Vertex ED (or cadett ELSA), and Team Center

• Experience with Structured Text (ST) programming language and proficiency in C++ are considered an advantage

• Previous experience in maritime business is considered as an advantage

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team, with customer focused mindset

• Communication skills in Finnish and/or English is required
