We are now looking for a solution-oriented Application Engineer to strengthen Arcteq Relays’ customer-driven service organization. In this role, you will ensure that Arcteq’s customers receive first-class support and that the company’s products meet even the most demanding technical requirements. The position offers a versatile combination of technical problem solving, customer collaboration, and hands-on testing—both in the office and at customer sites.

– Location: Vaasa or Helsinki
– Remote work: Hybrid model – up to two remote workdays per week
– Travelling: Readiness to travel approximately 50–80 days per year

– Start date: As agreed, but preferably as soon as possible

Key responsibilities
In this role, you will ensure that Arcteq’s products meet customers’ most demanding requirements and that they receive high-quality, responsive support. Your work will be a mix of practical testing, technical support, and customer interaction. Day-to-day tasks range from resolving support tickets to on-site commissioning and training activities.

Typical tasks include:

– Planning and performing testing procedures both in-house and at customer sites – especially commissioning-related testing involving simulation and verification of various fault scenarios using protection relay test equipment (e.g., Omicron)
– Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues – most testing and fault simulations are performed at Arcteq’s facilities by replicating customer-reported faults
– Providing technical support to customers via the ticket system or on-site, in cooperation with product development when needed

– Training customers, both during Arcteq’s training weeks in Vaasa and at customer premises
– Proactive customer collaboration – working closely with sales and product development to ensure customers receive optimal solutions for their protection and commissioning needs

What Arcteq Relays excepts from you? 
– Experience in troubleshooting and electrical installation testing according to given procedures
– M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering
– Fluent English skills and a customer service–oriented approach
– Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
– Readiness to travel in Finland and abroad
– Knowledge of power system protection applications is considered an advantage
– Hands-on experience with protection relay testing equipment is an advantage
– S1 electrical qualification is an advantage
